The Contest "Art For A New Time" May 2001

Letting the web roll- From the data highway to Düsseldorf's streetcar tracks

It was indeed an entirely new "Traffic Concept" that was introduced by Dow in November 2000. Dow brought to life the first global Internet-Contest for a Streetcar Design. Artists from around the world were invited to send in their visions of life, work and recreation of the future. The rules where simple: The design proposals had to be downloaded via the internet to enter the contest.
